So every Wednesday night we put out our garbage and recyclables for pickup on Thursday. Tonight, I had the pleasure of breaking down the box that my wife's MacBook Pro came in. While it was put together nicely with recyclable parts, they used a strong glue to keep it together. If I wasn't so determined to not put another piece of garbage in my pail, I would have just tossed it. Boxes that break down easily are much more likely to be recycled. Most people do not have the time or patience to fight with a box when it would take them 2 seconds to throw it in the trash.
Want to know what I love about recycling? Aside from it being good for the environment, it gets my 23 month old daughter excited. She loves throwing magazines, catalogs, etc. in our blue pail. Now what's better than that?
